the one where everything is falling apart

first blogger's comments didn't work and drove everyone crazy, now blogroll isn't displaying links. what's next?

(well, i spoke too soon. immediately after i typed that, power98 says they're gonna playing A1's like a rose. there is no god.)

i'm pissed that everything isn't working. a year ago, such technological failures never bothered me one bit, they could fail for days and i wouldn't even let loose a "nabeh!" now it's different, i wasn't victim of blogger's commenting tragedy, but my blogroll fails for five minutes and i feel like tearing www.blogrolling.com to pieces, nevermind the impossibility of that action.

nabeh!

anyway, let me provide some updates, because i also want to seek your (yes you, esteemed reader) advice.

an excerp i posted on a group blog last week:

don't know whether this is good news or not, because when i received the news i wasn't particularly excited.

i got accepted into Edith Cowan Uni (in perth), and conditional acceptance in Uni of Melbourne (in melbourne, duh). so many things to do: visa, health cover, flight details, accommodation... i guess i wasn't really prepared to get accepted. i think i'm still quite fickle over this. i don't know if it's worth the money to go all the way to Australia just to get a degree, it is afterall about 3 times the cost of a local comm studies degree.

fyi, conditional acceptance means they want to see my final results first before accepting me.

sigh.

actually i would prefer going to a local uni... but ntu's strength is not comm studies, and smu doesn't have such a programme.

all these talk about further education is started to make me lose my hair. think i shall stop obssessing.

ok i'm not nearly obsessing but it is important to me. i can't help it if i keep thinking about it.

so here's the update:
yesterday i got another conditional acceptance, to Murdoch this time. i'm not going to hide the fact that murdoch is the university i most want to go, despite having already coughed up the S$130.47 application fee for Uni of Melbourne.

here's the thing: Melbourne provides a good program, so does Murdoch. both have strength in different areas: Melbourne for theory and good foundation if you want Masters, Murdoch for practical training.

i know people are just gonna tell me to go for what i want. hell, if i knew what i wanted i wouldn't be doing this right now. so i need your (yes you, esteemed reader) opinion!

please?

wa~~you got accepted into another Uni!!CONGRATS!!well, if i were in your shoes, i'd think: What do I want to do after my degree? Continue Masters straightaway or work after my degree? the next step should be easier...

i very scared of those conditional acceptance from university. i was studying in canada, but i wasn't sure if i can get the acceptance so i came back. =/

I say go Melbourne, cause there are many chinese there (my cousin :p) and living in foreign country is always better with your own people. And you ask any singaporean, melbourne more popular... :p

you both have a point. getting a Masters is of course something i'd hope to get... eventually. maybe when i want to be a poly lecturer. :)

zhi yang (am having doubts after reading your ahpek masquerading post): why didn't you stay on? must have confidence! :) i think those conditional acceptances are frustrating and so kiasi, "ok, we accept you, but..."

I'll say Murdoch. You can always come back 2 SG first and work, get some experience, and then do ur Masters after that.. I mean, u urself said Masters is an eventual thingy rite? Will u haf enough money for Masters IF u wanna stay on and do it immediately? Cos speaking from experience (my sis), a Masters is no good if u haf no work experience. That's wad they look 4 when they apply 2 be a poly lecturer. (my sis tried also.. hahaA)

Practical training is something I feel that you would need right now more than just theory shit. Don't go 2 Melbourne just for that application fee. =)
Hmm, eventually, it's not our comments that matter, it's lyk wad u said, up to you and what u want! hahaahhaaa

peiwen: Ah peks cannot study meh? :p

Cause actually if I took the risk and stayed on in canada, and I don't get the acceptance I'll be dead cause by that time all institution in Singapore will not be accepting new students until next year. I very 'hum'.

But i'm told conditional acceptance are usually good to go. Cause they believe you'll be getting the same results you got for semester 1 for semester 4. Or something like that.
